    Govt. allocates more funds to buy paddy

    The Sri Lankan government has allocated another Rs. 2.3 billion to buy paddy harvests from farmers in this season and the government has spent Rs. 7 billion already to purchase paddy and so far has purchased over 150,000 metric tons of paddy from the farmers island wide, the Paddy Marketing Board revealed.

    According to the PMB, the government has purchased 38,000 metric tons from the Polonnaruwa district alone.
