An event to hand over vehicles for Ministers and the Chairman of the Northern Provincial Council was held on Saturday (05) at Governor’s Secretariat in Jaffna. The Governor of the Northern Province GA Chandrasiri handed over the keys of the vehicles to the responsible officers of each provincial ministry. Transport has been an important service in all sectors of administration and it is expected that these vehicles will help to run the provincial administration in a more effective manner.
Secretaries of the Ministries of Agriculture,Education, Fisheries as well as the Council Secretariat received keys from the Governor. The Chief Minister and the Health Minister are to be provided with vehicles in the near future. A vehicle donated by Japan Society Development Fund to the Health Ministry too was handed over at this event.
Chief Secretary of the Northern Provincial Council Mrs.R.Wijialudchumi and Secretary to the Governor L.Ilaangovan also participated at this event. (KH/np)
