    Navy installs more RO plants

    Sri Lanka Navy declared open more three Reverse Osmosis (RO) Plants on Friday (23rd Dec.) for the community use.


    They were installed in Tikkampothana in Kahatagasdigiliya, Diviyaudabandawewa in Rambewa, and Diyawara in Thanamalwila.


    The Community Service Project of the Sri Lanka Navy completed its first year of operations as at 22nd December 2016.


    The Navy’s Research and Development Unit utilized their expertise to produce and install these three facilities along with the financial provision made by the Presidential Task Force on Prevention of Kidney Diseases. Accordingly, over 1,350 families in those villages are facilitated with safe drinking water provided free of charge as a result of these installations.

     

    The SL Navy so far has installed 74 RO units in different parts of the county for the benefit of 34,500 families and 26,000 school children.
