Minister Amaraweera has told the envoy that the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Development has launched a targeted program for the development of fishing activities in Sri Lanka.

The Minister, expressing optimism that the ban imposed by the European Union on Sri Lanka's fish exports to the European Union countries would be lifted within the course of next two months, has sought the assistance of United Kingdom to get the ban lifted.
