The objective of the strategic cities development Project is to develop a sustainable environmental friendly city network.

Under this project steps have already been taken for the strategic development of the cities of Kandy and Galle through World Bank loan facilities.

The Cabinet of Ministers approved a proposal made by the Minister of Megapolis and Western Development Patali Champika Ranawaka in this connection.
