Embassy of Sri Lanka in Paris celebrated the 69th Anniversary of the Independence on 4th February 2017 at Espace Saint Pierre in Paris with the participation of over 550 invitees from the Sri Lankan community representing all ethnicities.
High Commission of Sri Lanka celebrated the 69th anniversary of the independence of Sri Lanka with the official ceremony held in the morning of 4th of February followed by an evening reception at the High Commission premises on the 6th of February, 2017.
Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Mumbai celebrated the 69th Anniversary of the Independence Day at the Mission premises on 04 February, with the participation of the Sri Lankan community in the states of Maharashtra, Gujarat and Goa and members of the Sri Lanka armed forces undergoing training in India.
Sri Lankan Embassy in Berlin marked the 69th Anniversary of the Independence of Sri Lanka on 4th February 2017 with an official ceremony at the Embassy premises followed by a reception in the evening at the Bürgersaal Zehlendorf Community City Hall in Berlin.
The Export Development Board (EDB) has initiated action on the preparation of a National Export Strategy (NES) for the next five years. The EDB is empowered by the Sri Lanka Export development Act to prepare a national Export strategy.
A meeting was organized by the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka and the Ministry of Development Strategies and International Trade to address outstanding matters concerning investors from the European Union. The Sri Lankan side was led by Malik Samarawickrama, Minister of Development Strategies and International Trade assisted by his Ministry secretary Chandani Wijewardhana, Mangala Yapa, Managing Director of the Agency for Economic Development, Upul Jayasuriya and Duminda Ariyasinghe, respectively Chairman and Director General of the BOI, and Indira Malwatte Chairperson of the Export Development Board.
High Commissioner of Sri Lanka in Nigeria Thambirajah Raveenthiran, concurrently accredited as Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Mauritania as well, presented his Credentials to Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz, the President on 23rd January at a ceremony held at the Presidential Palace at Nouakchott in Mauritania.
Sri Lankan Ambassador Tilak Ranaviraja conveyed greetings from President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe to the French President François Hollande at a reception held on 12th January at the Presidential palace, Palais de l’Elysée.
