High Commission of Sri Lanka of the Republic of Seychelles celebrated the 69th Anniversary of Independence Day of Sri Lanka at the Official Residence on 4th February which was attended by around 150 Sri Lankans.
Sri Lankan Embassy in Stockholm together with the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau participated at the “Tourest - 2017”, the Estonian Travel Fair which was held in Tallinn, Estonia on 10th, 11th and 12th February. This is the first time Sri Lanka participated at this Travel show and the first Tourism Promotion activity conducted by Sri Lanka in the Baltic Region.
At a well-attended ceremony at the Pacific Club of Hawaii, Ambassador Prasad Kariyawasam extended a warm welcome to Bede Dhammika Cooray as the new Honorary Consul of Sri Lanka for the state of Hawaii. The presentation of the commission of appointment to the new Honorary Consul was preceded by a celebration to commemorate the 69th Anniversary of Independence of Sri Lanka with the participation of senior representatives of the Hawaiian administration, judiciary, diplomatic community, U.S. Pacific Command (USPACOM), East West Center, Asia Pacific Center for Security Studies (APCSS) as well as the Sri Lankan American community.
Forty seven Sri Lankan companies, Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau and Sri Lankan Airlines participated at the South Asia Travel and Tourism Exchange (SATTE) 2017 which is one of the largest travel and tourism exhibitions held in India. Galadari Hotel, Hilton Hotel, Kingsbury Hotel, Jet Wing Travels (Pvt.) Ltd., Aitken Spence Travels, Walkers Tours Ltd. and B.O.C Travels were also among the participants at this key event, held in New Delhi from 15th to 17th of February.
Commemorating the 69th Anniversary of the Independence of Sri Lanka, the Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Dubai and Northern Emirates took the initiative to host a National day reception on 5th February in Al Ameera Ballroom at the hotel Grand Hyatt-Dubai, with the participation of over 350 guests including diplomats from around 50 countries. This is the first time after a period of five years such reception to celebrate the Independence Day has been organized by the Consulate General.
The 69th Anniversary of Independence Day of Sri Lanka was celebrated on 4th February at the Embassy premises in Doha with the participation of the Sri Lankan community, Religious representatives, Media personals and the Mission staff and their families.
Office of the Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Melbourne celebrated the 69th Anniversary of Independence of Sri Lanka on 4 February. The Official flag hoisting ceremony was held at the Office of the Consulate General. The flag hoisting was followed by the national anthem which was played both in Sinhala and Tamil. National day messages of the President, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs were read at the event.
