The Government has taken new steps to improve Mathematics education at G.C.E. Ordinary Level. In a bid to prevent children of the age of having compulsory education leaving schools due to failing the mathematics subject at the G.C.E. (O/L) Examination. A proposal submitted by Bandula Gunawardena, Minister of Education in this regard was approved by the Cabinet.
