Showers or thundershowers will occur over most parts of the Island during the afternoon or night. Fairly heavy showers above 50 mm can be expected at some places in Eastern, Central, and North-central provinces.

The High Commission of Sri Lanka in Pretoria organized a tourism and trade promotional event at Menlyn Mall, one of the largest shopping malls in the African continent, in conjunction with ‘World Tourism Day’ on 27 September 2024. The Sri Lanka stall was designed to showcase Sri Lanka as a premier tourist destination and promote Sri Lankan arts and crafts, with the goal of positioning the country as a travel hub.
