The handing over ceremony of a Self-Propelled Grab Hopper Dredger named “Sayuru” would take place at the Dikkovita fishery harbour on October 18 at 3:00 PM.

The International Day of the Girl Child which fell on 11th October was celebrated on the 13th at the Holy Trinity College in Nuwara-Eliya. It was organized by the Ministry of Women’s and Children’s Affairs in collaboration with the District Secretariat under the guidance of P.P.G.Kumarasiri, District Secretary and funded by the Women’s Bureau of Sri Lanka. About 125 Sinhala, Tamil and Muslim girl students participated in the workshop headed by U.W.R.U.M.Amarasekera, Additional District Secretary, Nuwara Eliya.
