President Maithripala Sirisena held a discussion with a group of members of the Ceylon Electricity Board Engineers’ Association, regarding future plans which aimed at the development of the field of energy while protecting the environment and boosting the economy, at the Presidential Secretariat, yesterday (21st Feb.).
President Maithripala Sirisena said that he would take a decision on the issue regarding the private universities in the country including the Malabe SAITM private medical college, taking into consideration the best interests and the productivity of the country.
A ceremony to open the newly built Dharma Mandiraya named in memory of Ven. Sok In Von Mahanahimi and Ven. Thalalle Dhammaloka Anunahimi, and the two storied Dharma Shala Mandiraya at the Jayasumanarama Maha Vihara in Amugoda, Elpitiya was held under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena yesterday (Feb. 20).
Fourth South Asia Region Public Procurement Conference commenced under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena in Colombo today (20th Feb.). The Conference will continue until 23rd February in Colombo and Kandy.
President Maithripala Sirisena said the Mahaweli mega hydro electrical projects were speedily implemented to ensure rapid benefits to the people and in a similar manner, the current government also taken took action to give early benefits to the people by expediting the irrigation projects.
