A special program to deliver nutrition food packs and dry rations to the pregnant mothers was held yesterday (16th July) at the President’s House in Kandy, under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena. The program was organized by the Central Province Governor’s Office with the objective of enhancing the maternity health in the province.
President Maithripala Sirisena was the Chief Guest at the Investment Forum held in Dhaka, on 15th July with the participation of Sri Lanka as well as Bangladesh investors and entrepreneurs. This Forum was organized to explore new investments and business opportunities in Sri Lanka.
The Speaker of Bangladesh says that President Maithripala Sirisena has made a revolutionary transformation in Sri Lanka and the Sri Lankan President as an experienced leader in the region, is an exemplary leader, for the Commonwealth Group.
"Bangladesh will not hesitate to provide whatever the possible assistance or help to Sri Lanka as we have an extremely cordial relationship", said the Bangladesh Foreign Minister A. H. Mahmood Ali when he met with President Maithripala Sirisena.

President Maithripala Sirisena called on South Asian leaders to cooperate in collective programmes to eradicate the drug menace. He said that the spread of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances is the most dangerous threat to the youths in the region and it requires constant attention and the utmost vigilance to prevent smuggling and distribution of drugs.
