    Impartial Investigation into allegations over Econ paper

    ‘President Mahinda Rajapaksa has ordered to conduct an impartial investigation into the allegations over the Economics paper of the GCE A. Level Examination. The investigation report is expected to submit in a week. . An extensive investigation will be opened to inquire on past Examinations conducted by the Department of Examinations, Minister of Education Bandula Gunawardena said.


    The aim of conducting these investigations is to affirm confidence of the people about the examinations of the Department. The Minister said that legal action will be taken against the people who are leveling baseless allegations on the Examinations and question papers.


    The Minister noted that no error has been figured out in the Economics paper of the GCE A/Level Examination. The Commissioner General of the Examination is responsible for paper setting process.


    The Minister also highlighted that some resource persons who were removed from the paper setting process due to cheating are trying to accomplish petty politics. (ST/KH)
