President Maithripala Sirisena emphasized the need for further expanding economic relations between Pakistan and Sri Lanka. He made this statement when Pakistan’s Foreign Secretary Ms. Tehmina Janjua called on him at the Presidential Secretariat yesterday (17th Oct.).
The government has devoted its first two years in office to stabilize the economy. Sri Lanka which faced an unbearable debt burden is now repaying its loans with difficulty, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe said.
