Sri Lankans are not prepared to make this country a colony of the western powers once again. This message will be given to the international community by the patriotic masses in a very strong form by making the United Peoples Freedom Alliance tremendously victorious on the Provincial Council elections on the 29th of this month.
Delivering their verdict on a petition against the President filed by Pakiasothy Saravanamuttu, a five member judge bench of the Supreme Court Monday declared that the President had legal immunity under article 35 of the Constitution of Sri Lanka and that his actions could not be challenged in Court.
The President said public support is always with the government and that he will not be disturbed over what was happening in Geneva against Sri Lanka, as long as the people are with the government. The President was speaking at a mammoth election rally in Maligawatte in support of the UPFA candidates contesting for the upcoming Provincial Council election from the Colombo district .
