President worships Malwathu Maha Viharaya & Asgiri Gedige

President Maithripala Sirisena yesterday (15th Nov.) also visited the Malwathu Maha Viharaya and engaged in the religious observances. Later, the President called on the Most Venerable Thibbotuwawe Sri Sumangala Thera of the Malwatte chapter.

 

Thereafter the President arrived at the Asgiri Gedige Raja Maha Viharaya. The President called on the chief incumbent of the Gedige Raja Maha Viharaya, Most.Ven. Vedaruwe Upali Nayaka Thera. After a brief discussion on the history of the Asgiri Viharaya with the Ven. Thero the President observed the historic documents related to the temple. He also visited the places of historical value situated in the premises.
