All media institutions are working jointly taking into consideration the current situation as a national crisis, said the Director-General of Information Nalaka Kaluwewa. He noted that no matter what decisions are taken by the government, if it is not accurately reported to the people, they would not know about these measures and the efforts taken by the government would be futile. Hence, he noted that the Government Information Department is mediating between the government and these media institutions to give the people accurate and up to date information.The Director General said this during the joint electronic media live discussion held this morning (15) to notify the public of the measures taken by the government to contain the spread of the Coronavirus.This programme was organized on the directives of the President and Prime Minister by the Electronic Media Collective and the Government Information Department. This programme was aired live on all television and radio stations.
