Due to the Coronavirus epidemic all regular clinics of hospitals for outpatients has come to a standstill and as a solution to this issue patients could consult the doctor from their homes using video calling technology. Therefore, the technology where the patient and the doctor could connect is being implemented.
The Health Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi visited the Lady Ridgeway Hospital today to inspect this pilot project and Consultant Dr. Anuruddha Padeniya who is a Consultant paediatric Neurologist, briefed the minister on this latest initiative and commenced the pilot project at his clinic. This method could be used for other hospitals too in the near future and the service could be obtained by downloading the App oDoc.life on your mobile phone.
Further educating the public on this new system would be carried out by the Health Ministry’s Health Promotion Bureau and in addition to logging onto the oDoc.life website one can also call 0770773333 for further details.
