The 'Saru Diviyata Krushi Saviya' agricultural exhibition organized by the Western Provincial Ministry of Agriculture will be held on 25th, 26th, and 27th September at the Training Institute of Department of Agriculture in Bombuwala, Kalutara.
The price of Squid which is imported from China being used as baits for fishing has been increasing for the last couple of months. Even though the Fisher community has made a request from the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Development to take measures to reduce the price, it was found futile due to the fact that the imported baits gets the benefit of tax concessions.
State Minister of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Development Dilip Vedarachchi assured that he will develop the fisheries industry in coming years in collaboration with the National Fisheries Federation.
