A project has been launched to create Fruit villages in Kurunegala District. Accordingly, 37000 fruit plants will be planted in 167 acres of land in the Kurunegala District.

As part of the series of events being organized on the occasion of the 68th Independence Day of India (15 August 2014), the Indian CEO Forum, in collaboration with the High Commission of India in Sri Lanka, is organizing an Independence Day Concert by the famous Indian singer, Shaan (Shantanu Mukherjee) on 17 August 2014 at 6.30 p.m. at the Stein Studios, No. 20, 2nd Cross Street, Borupana Road, Ratmalana.
