Some western diplomatic missions in Colombo are planning to engineer a ‘Pink Revolution’ in Sri Lanka to effect a regime change, says Construction, Engineering Services, Housing and Common Amenities Minister Wimal Weerawansa.
The government is strengthening free education with the establishment of Mahindodaya Technical Laboratories in schools to enable students to meet the future needs of the country as well as the world, said President Mahinda Rajapaksa on Sunday (14).

Fa-Hien (also known as Faxian), after Bhikku Dhammayana took the first Buddha Statue from Sri Lanka to China. This visit is considered the beginning of an important stage in the spread of Buddhist teaching from Sri Lanka to other parts of Asia. It is also regarded as the oldest recorded link between Sri Lanka and China.
The 3-storey preaching hall (Dharmashala) at the Nedumgamuwa Sri Jayasundararama Vihara in Welimada was declared open by President Mahinda Rajapaksa on Sunday (14).
