Showery condition to continue Featured

Showery weather condition is expected to continue over the south-western part of the island, Met. Department said.

Fairly strong winds at times (up to 50kmph) can be expected over the island (Especially in the western slope of the central hills) and strong winds at times in the surrounding sea areas (up to 60-70 kmph).

 

Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, Central and North-western provinces. Heavy falls (more than 100 mm) can be expected at some places.

 

Showers or thundershowers are likely occur at several places in the Eastern and Uva provinces after 2.00p.m

 

Temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers are expected and public is requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning.
