2nd Indo Pacific Regional Information Sharing Steering Committee Meeting held in Colombo
March 06, 2024The second (2nd) Indo Pacific Regional Information Sharing (IORIS) Steering Committee Meeting commenced at the Kingsbury Colombo today (05th March 2024). The event was graced by Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera, as the Chief Guest.
The third and fourth discussions regarding the draft of the National Education Policy Framework (2023-2033) were held in the Sectoral Oversight Committee on Education.
The Government of Sri Lanka with the concurrence of the government of Israel has established a new Honorary Consulate for Haifa and Northern District of Israel which is a main trade and industrial hub. Haifa is a famous tourist destination with architectural and historical heritage sites. The main port city of Israel is also located in Haifa. There are around 2,000 Sri Lankan migrant workers in Haifa and the Northern area of Israel.

March 06, 2024President Ranil Wickremesinghe asserted that the nation’s economy is experiencing robust growth as a result of the government’s initiatives. Consequently, he pledged further assistance to the people in the future. Stressing the methodical and scientific execution of these endeavours, the President emphasized his commitment to truthfulness over political gain. He clarified that his current endeavours are dedicated to national reconstruction rather than personal power accumulation.
