The incident that took place at the Anuradhapura Prison yesterday has been brought under control. The prison inmates had acted violently and tried to escape.

The curfew imposed at 6.00 am on Friday is still in force country-wide. The Police Media Director SP Jaliya Senaratne stated that 281 persons had been arrested for violating the curfew.

The Neville Fernando Hospital in Malabe and the Borella Castle Street Hospital are to be used to treat pregnant mothers suspected of having contracted the Coronavirus, the Health Services Director-General Dr. Anil Jasinghe said.

Currently there are 3063 persons in quarantine at 22 quarantine centres, the National Centre for the Prevention of Covid-19 stated.
