The government appealed to the people to follow the procedures introduced to safeguard against the spread of the Covid-19 virus in the country and to protect the lives of the people.
The Sri Lanka Telecommunication Regulatory Commission stated that, based on TRCSL guidance all operators have agreed and now have a mechanism to provide emergency credit and extra talk time for prepaid customers who may face difficulty purchasing top-ups due to curfew.
Around 790 persons have been arrested for violating curfew island-wide from 6.00 am on Friday until 5.00 pm today (22), according to the Police Media Spokesperson.
Issuing a statement the Director-General of the Government Information Department Nalaka Kaluwewa said that the CPC Chairman Sumith Wijesinghe has assured that the fuel supply is being done without any hindrance or shortage as an essential service.
