One hundred and forty five (145) persons have been directed to the quarantine centre at Boossa Naval Base as of now. The quarantine centre at Boossa Naval Base was established to support the quarantine of persons arriving in the island, in the backdrop where the new coronavirus is spreading all over the world.
Due to the ongoing island-wide curfew, imposed by the government with the aim of preventing the spread of the Coronavirus (Covid-19), a large number of patients who obtain prescribed medicines from hospitals and pharmacies are facing a dilemma.
President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has directed the relevant authorities to consider the possibility of granting relief measures to those in prison for being unable to fulfil their bail conditions over minor offences.
Issuing a statement, the President’s Media Division noted that the Colombo, Gampaha and Kalutara districts have been identified as high-risk zones with regard to the spread of Covid-19.
