    Sri Lanka Data Protection Authority’s Chairman, Arjuna Herath, has announced the imminent finalization of rules and regulations crucial for overseeing the protection of citizen rights within both public and private sector entities involved in personal data processing.

    During a recent event where musical instruments were being presented to the Monaragala Buduruwagala Maha Vidyalaya, Mr. Rajith Keerthi Thennakoon, the President Director General (Community Affairs), remarked that had President Ranil Wickremesinghe been able to implement his proposed changes in education during his tenure as Minister of Education, the nation would now boast an outstanding education system. Mr. Thennakoon made this observation during the ceremony held on the 9th of this month.

    Minister of Highways, Transport, and Mass Media Dr. Bandula Gunawardena, said if anyone has any alternative suggestions beyond the program initiated by President Ranil Wickremesinghe, he is ready to explore such alternative avenues for Sri Lanka’s economic development.

    A press conference was held this afternoon (12) at the President’s Media Center to announce a significant development aimed at making payments easier for Indian tourists in Sri Lanka. The conference followed the virtual launch introducing UPI transactions, highlighting their groundbreaking impact in connecting Sri Lanka and India.
