    The Sri Lanka Navy today (31st May 2024) rendered assistance to rescue 06 fishermen from a distressed local multi-day fishing trawler which was about 480 nautical miles (889km) off Dondra, south of Sri Lanka. The fishermen were retrieved by a tanker in the sea area, on being coordinated by the Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC) Colombo.

    The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Maldives, Moosa Zameer will be undertaking an official visit to Sri Lanka from 03 – 06 June 2024.

    A memorial service for late Ambassador of France Jean-François Pactet, jointly organized by Ministry of Foreign Affairs and French Embassy in Colombo was held this morning at St. Mary's Church with the participation of Foreign Minister M.U.M Ali Sabry, Foreign Secretary Aruni Wijewardane and Diplomatic Corps.

    Director General of Health Services Dr. Asela Gunawardena told the Parliamentary Caucus for Children that it has been decided to give permission to restart the production of Thriposha, which is given to children between the ages of 06 months to 03 years, which has been temporarily suspended.
