Rs. 10,000 million to empower 200,000 Samurdhi beneficiary families - State Minister Shehan Semasinghe
March 13, 2021An amount of Rs. 10,000 million has been allotted to empower 200,000 Samurdhi beneficiary families under the program to convert Samurdhi beneficiaries into becoming income generators, the State Minister of Samurdhi, Household Economy, Micro Finance, Self-Employment and Business Development Shehan Semasinghe said in Parliament.
Plans to resume Jaffna-Chennai direct flights soon
March 13, 2021The Sri Lanka government is preparing to resume direct flights from Jaffna to Chennai, which were suspended due to the spread of Covid-19 pandemic.
The Government official news portal is maintains by the New Media Unit of the Department of Government Information and it was titled "news.lk" and commenced in mid1996 and release to Internet from March 01st, 1997.
News.lk publishes in three languages – Sinhala, Tamil and English.
