WHO Director-General Commends President’s efforts
April 01, 2020The Director-General of the World Health Organisation Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus had commended President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa for mobilizing the whole government in the fight against the Coronavirus.
In a special statement issued at the National Operation Centre for the prevention of Covid-19, the Health Services Director General Dr. Anil Jasinghe details several hospitals that have been assigned to care for persons suspected of having contracted the Coronavirus.
The Covid-19 Health and Social Security Fund has recorded a balance of over Rs. 242 million by the direct deposits of private donors and various companies.
So far 8,451 arrested over curfew violations
April 01, 2020From 6.00 am yesterday (31) to 6.00 am today (April 01) the police had arrested 1,093 persons who had violated curfew regulations. In addition, the police had also taken into custody 310 vehicles.
