    Sri Lanka donated four tons of “Ceylon Tea” to Australia, as a goodwill gesture, for the victims of the recent bushfires that devastated people’s lives in Australia. President of Sri Lanka Gotabaya Rajapaksa pledged the donation to the Australian Premier Scott Morrison, during a telephone conversation to convey his condolences and support, last month.

    Sri Lanka High Commission in Malaysia celebrated the 72th Anniversary of Sri Lanka’s Independence at the High Commission on 04 February 2020, with the Sri Lankan community living in Malaysia. The event commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag and the singing of the National Anthem followed by observance of  two minutes silence in honour of all those  who sacrificed their liven in defence of the Motherland, Multi-faith religious observances to invoke blessings to the country and the people of Sri Lanka.
