Cabinet approval has been granted for a proposal presented by Foreign Relations Minister Dinesh Gunawardena to repatriate 33 Sri Lankans stranded at foreign airports, Cabinet Co-Spokesman Dr. Ramesh Pathirana said during the media briefing to notify the Cabinet decisions (09th).
The government’s attention has been focussed on providing relief measures to the journalists, artistes and those engaged in self-employment.
At this difficult time, the government has opened a special account under special concessions for overseas Sri Lankans and other overseas individuals who have liquid excess foreign currency to deposit their monies, said Co-Cabinet Spokesman Dr. Bandula Gunawardena.
