March 13, 2022Technically and professionally-qualified Sri Lanka Army troops on a Presidential directive given to the Army Chief rose to the challenge of putting up an alternative temporary bridge, instead of the collapsed one between the Matara Pigeon Island and the mainland in less than a week, and vested it in the members of the Maha Sangha and the public March (12) during a brief ceremony, held at the 'Uposhithagaraya' and temple premises of the Shymopali Maha Vihara Vanshika Sri Rohana Chapter of the Maha Sangha Sabha.
Policy Package to Support Greater Macroeconomic Stability : Allowing Flexibility in the Exchange Rate
March 12, 2022Considering the severity of the external shocks and recent developments in the domestic front, the Monetary Board of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka announced a comprehensive policy package on 04 March 2022 with the view to counter such economic headwinds. The Central Bank also indicated that it will continue to closely monitor the emerging macroeconomic and financial market developments, both globally and domestically, and will stand ready to take further measures as appropriate, with the aim of achieving stability in the fronts of inflation, the external sector, the financial sector, and real economic activity.
Sri Lanka attracts visitors at Travel EXPO Ankara
March 12, 2022The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Ankara, Turkey in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau participated at the 05th edition of the Travel EXPO, Ankara travel trade fair which was held from 03 to 06 March 2022. This is the second time that Sri Lanka has participated at the Ankara based prominent travel trade fair.
