Another twenty one (21) persons who successfully completed their quarantine process at the Boossa and Kalpitiya Naval Quarantine Centres left those centres on 29th and 30th July 2020.
Captain Gaku Fukaura, the Defence Attaché at Embassy of Japan in Sri Lanka called on Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne at the Navy Headquarters on 30th July 2020.
Sri Lanka Navy has been conducting regular operations for the prevention of illegal fishing practices which adversely impact legitimate commercial fishers as well as marine ecosystem. During similar search operations conducted in Trincomalee, Kinniya, Mullaitivu and Nilaveli sea areas on 25th and 28th July 2020, the Navy managed to nab 15 persons engaged in illegal fishing and seize fishing gear belonging to them.
