Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in Western, North-western, Central and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Galle and Matara districts.Showers or thundershowers will occur elsewhere particularly after 2.00p.m.Very heavy falls about 150 mm can be expected at some places in Western, North-western, Central, Uva and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Galle, Matara districts.There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers. General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity.

    Senior Advisor for Global Alliance for Trade Facilitation Eric Miller said that Sri Lanka’s location advantage is necessary, but not sufficient condition for becoming a maritime and logistics hub in the region. He said that Sri Lanka needs to put necessary building blocks to leverage on emerging opportunities, particularly to implement the Multi Country Consolidation, (MCC) model, supported by the Global Alliance for Trade Facilitation to give Sri Lanka the new edge as a trade and logistics hub in the region.
