Sri Lanka’s historic craft traditions are set to go hi-tech while the craftsmen themselves are set to receive international craft exposure. And the country’s national crafts expo series has for the first time, expanded to include SAARC region’s arts and crafts.
On November 10, 2016, Chinese Ambassador Yi Xianliang visited Fa-Hsien GALA Sri-Lanka-China Friendship Village School, which is located at Kalutara, 40 km south of capital Colombo. During the visit, Ambassador Yi, who was warmly welcomed by the Principle, teachers, students and their parents, donated around 300 sets of school bags and pencil boxes to the students.

A business delegation from Guangdong Province visited the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka (BOI) with the objective of exploring opportunities for investment in Sri Lanka. The delegation consisted of Senior Chinese State and Party officials and executives of enterprises from Guangdong particularly from the port city of Nansha.
