Navy Commander visits Port of Hambantota

Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne made an inspection visit at the Port of Hambantota yesterday (11th Jan.).

During this visit, the Commander conducted a Security Audit of the harbour premises in respect to the deployment of SLN personnel stationed at the location for security.

 

Subsequently, the Navy Commander also declared open the messes built for the Rapid Deployment Teams (RDT) stationed within the harbor premises in order to provide security for the ships, people and other facilities.

 

Addressing the gathering, the Commander praised the efforts of the naval personnel who tirelessly render their service for the achievement of defensive and national goals whilst maintaining good rapport with the civilian population in the area. A group of senior naval officers and sailors from the Southern Naval Command were also present on this occasion.
