    SLNS ‘Sayura’ and SLNS ‘Suranimala’ on a training visit to India Featured

    SLNS ‘Sayura’ and SLNS ‘Suranimala’ of the Sri Lanka Navy, left for India yesterday from Port of Colombo for a training and goodwill visit from 22nd to 28th October.


    The two ships are scheduled to make their port of call at Cochin in India today (23) and take part in a series of training programs. Three hundred and four (304) SLN personnel including twelve (12) Midshipmen undergoing their sea training, are scheduled to take part in the 07-day visit which would allow them to meet and interact with their Indian counterparts, strengthening the bilateral relations and friendship between the two friendly navies.

     

    Moreover, the SLN crew will also make familiarization visits to number of training schools in the Indian Southern Naval Command, including INS Venduruthy and INS Dronacharya and take part in a wide range of training programs, covering a wide spectrum of activities. Further, the visit will pave the way for SLN personnel to obtain first-hand experience of the latest developments in the advanced navies of the world.
