The textbooks used presently in the elementary Pirivenas have been prepared in 1994 and they have not been updated so far. Drawing attention to this matter, steps have been taken to update elementary Pirivena text books shortly and distribute among the students under the instructions of The Minister of Education Akila Viraj Kariyawasam.
