Those who are entering the public sector employment from January 2018 will be given additional marks if they are bilingual, Minister of National Co-existence, Dialogue, and Official Languages Mano Ganeshan said.
The Cabinet Memorandum in this regard will be presented by next month the minister said.
Accordingly, the Sinhala people who can speak Tamil and Tamils who are conversant in Sinhala will get four additional marks at the interview.
Minster further said that they would work to establish co-existence among all communities of the country through the official language policy.
