Employers agreed on interim allowance to be paid to estate employees

The Estate Employers’ Federation has agreed to pay an interim payments with outstanding for the estate employees.

A special discussion in this regard was held yesterday (25th July) at the Temple Trees between the Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and the representatives of the Employers' Federation.

The Financial guarantee to make these payment has already been issued by the Ministry of Finance and financial provisions will be made to the plantation companies through the Bank of Ceylon and the People’s Bank today (26th July) as per an agreement inked between the Tea Board and the Regional Plantation Companies.

Minister of International Trade and Development Strategies Malik Samarawickrema, Secretary to the Ministry of Finance Dr. R.H.S. Samaratunga, and the Director General and CEO of the Employers’ Federation Kanishka Weerasinghe were also present on the occasion .
