Sri Pada pilgrimage season concludes Print E-mail

ImageThe Sri Pada pilgrimage season has come to an end after bringing the statue of god Saman to the Galpottawala Rajamaha Viharaya in Pelmadulla. The Sri Pada pilgrimage season commenced on Unduwap Full Moon Poya Day.
It drew to an end last afternoon with Vesak festival still on.
Religious observances were held at the 'maluwa' and alms offered to
the Maha Sangha.

The statue of the god and the Casket were brought to the Buddhist
Centre at Nallathanniya last afternoon. These were thereafter brought
to the Galpottawala Rajamaha Viharaya at Pelmadulla.
