Sri Lanka Navy's Offshore Patrol Vessel SLNS Samudura left for Pakistan from the Port of Colombo to take part in the Naval Exercise 'Aman' in Pakistan on Friday (3rd February 2017), said the navy media.

India and Sri Lanka signed a MoU to construct a new multi-ethnic tri-lingual secondary school in Polonnaruwa District. The MoU was signed by Mr.Taranjit Singh Sandhu, High Commissioner of India to Sri Lanka and Mr. Sunil Hettiarachchi, Secretary to the Ministry of Education. Senior Officials from Government of Sri Lanka, including Mr.Ranjan Dharmawardena, Chief of Staff to the President of Sri Lanka, participated. The School will be constructed using a grant of SLR 300 million from the Government of India. The project envisages construction of class rooms, laboratories and library, as well as procurement of furniture and other equipment.
