The Blood Bank at the Army Hospital has introduced a new 'Gel Card Technology' for facilitating blood grouping and compatibility testing for patients. The new method which came into effect at the army's premier medical facility from 01sf of February had been introduced to expedite procedures and in keeping with technology presently being used by blood banks in developed countries.
Blood Transfusion Center in the Tangalle Base hospital established with Netherland assistance was opened by the Minister of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine Dr. Rajitha Senarathne on Tuesday (14th Feb.).
